Covid 19 2020 Update......
Latest 2020 Dates Announced(subject to Government guidelines):
For those of you who might be new to this and thinking about joining us in 2020, there are no sign up fees, committees etc. It is organized with help from the team at North Sails and affiliated Yacht Club's. The idea is to create a series that is a mostly 'Corinthian' Class, where family and friends get a taste of Grand Prix style Racing.
Covid 19 has so far seen us either cancel or postpone our first 4 regattas of the year, however with racing now successfully being run by various Yacht Clubs, we are very excited to confirm our truncated 2020 Season.

September will see the P40s officially competing together for the first time in 2020 at the RORC IRC Nationals, where we will again be hoping that a P40 can be crowned Overall IRC National Champion, as Stuart Sawyer's team emphatically did on the J122 Black Dog last year. Currently this regatta will be run with an 80% Crew Number Limit.
Also in September will be the Royal Southern September regatta (crew limite TBC), which over the past few years has attracted over 18 P40s per regatta...... let's try for 20!
October sees the return of the Hamble River Sailing Club Winter Series to the P40 Circuit, where we will compete over 2 weekends (the second weekend doubling up at the Hamble Autumn Champs)
While finally, the Royal Yacht Squadron P40 Nationals will be held end of October/beginning of November and we are again hoping for an awesome turnout here... as well as another great evening on the Saturday. This event will be non-discardable and worth double points).

What is a Performance 40?
A ‘Performance 40’ is a Cruiser/Racer around 40ft and will be defined by the below limitations, which utilises information from her IRC Certificate. Also known as a P40, the intention is for this to be a mostly 'Corinthian' Class, where family and friends get a taste of Grand Prix style Racing.
For reference a First 40 is at the bottom of the band and an XP44 is at the top of the band. This includes but is not limited to; J111’s, J122’s, J133’s, J121, IMX40’s, Grand Soleil 43’s, Arcona 41’s, JND 39’s, Corby 40's, Mills 39’s, Matt 12’s, Farr 40’s, King 40’s, Azuree 46’s etc.
